**Progression system**
because you need to know that people have some skin in the game
1. egg: give small generalisable tasks that anyone can do, and is not specific to any skillset
2. hatchling: if they do the egg task, give them a task that is generalised too, but specific to the skill that someone defines themselves as having.
3. cygnet: if they do the hatchling task, we will interview them personally. get them working on a task tailored to their skillset, and this is where the matrix below comes into place. we might know they will do things, because they have done things before, but they might also say they don't have much time free.
[during the cygnet interview, we will onboard them to huly.io]
[we will also allow them access to groups on discord to socialise about their role and region, as a social cost. prior to this, they have read only access. we will also, during the interview, assign them to a mentor in the server, one mentor for their skillset, and one mentor for their region, who will introduce them and create social pressure to perform.]
4. swan: if they do the cygnet task, get them working on tasks with other people in a team, first with their skills, and then perhaps multidiscipinary. perhaps they coordinate some cygnets to do smaller tasks, or propose tasks they can do.
5. black swan: has consistently performed as a swan, and might be given a generalised direction to organise people around, but work on the specifics.

- supporter: "I can't help out often, but I could probably do something irl sometime probably"

#### Intersects
a matrix of the intersect of availaility and skill roles, which creates a description that gives people a direction to default to if they're confused on what to do, but we will give people a specific task based on how much time they have free; it's sort of like a job description for a job role.
| time role | computers | programming | organising | influencing | research |
|------------|-----------|-------------|------------|-------------|------------|
| euphoriaer | outside | design | intersect | culture | solve |
| journeyer | bring | make | allocate | country | understand |
| adventurer | together | build | sort | kewl | consider |
for example, the description through the intersects of
- euphoriaer and programming is design
- journeyer and influencing is country
- adventurer and computers is together
